Yesterday I received a letter…yes a real letter with a stamp and everything…from Cal’s Legal Studies teacher. Now I have had a bit of a sore spot with this woman since she not only suggested to Cal but actively encouraged him to call up a real live brothel and ask them some questions for his current assignment.

My poor shy, introverted boy was just too shy to do such a thing so he ended up emailing these ‘ladies of the night’ and lo and behold he and I were both very pleasantly surprised when they emailed back and were very helpful and courteous to him. It’s not that I am so stupid naive to think that it wasn’t ordinary people just like you and I that work in the sex industry, it was just that I thought it that it might be quite easy for them to dismiss his email as a prank.

Anyway, my letter…

It ended up being a letter of commendation for Callum, telling me lots of things that I already knew but nevertheless it was very nice to have this woman tell me that MY son was doing amazingly well in her class, that he was a pleasure to teach and is an absolute credit to ME! (*swollen head here*)

When Cal arrived home I told him I had received a letter from this teacher but I told him it was a bad letter and that she was concerned about his work ethic and that he wasn’t up to scratch and hadn’t handed in any assignments etc etc….

To say Cal went a little ballistic would be an understatement…”just you wait until I see that so and so tomorrow, I have so handed in my work..OMG I am so angry,” is something along the lines of his reply…..

Of course I could only keep up this charade for a whole minute and 21 seconds before I had to burst out with pride and tell him what the letter was really about and how proud I was to be his Mum.

His answer…”Yeah I love you too Mum but you really are an old cow!”

I really only had one answer to that…”Moooooo!”
