Mad Goat Lady

And getting madder by the day!

Rainbow Bridge

Yesterday morning TETB went out to the paddock and there was a very sad and sorry and sick looking cat standing beside Miss Lucy. She was making no attempt to run away what so ever.

He carefully picked her up and brought her inside to me and I swear I could see every bone in her poor emaciated body

She was a gorgeous brown oriental and would have been a beautiful cat once upon a time

I tried to get her to eat but even that amount of effort was beyond her.

We traveled to Childers to take her to the vet but unfortunately they advised that she be euthenased, she was severely dehydrated and malnourished and had anemia and septicemia and also had severe liver and kidney damage. That’s all without even doing blood work to confirm what other nasties she had.

I guess to many people it would be strange to hear that I am sitting here crying over the death of a cat that I only knew for a few hours but every animal is precious to me.

Every time I closed my eyes last night I could see it’s beautiful face with it’s trusting eyes begging me to do something to help it… Sleep peacefully now little one

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I’m so sorry. Nor do I think it’s a bit strange to feel like that after the loss of an animal only known for a while . . . especially one you have seen suffer so. Thankfully she had someone who cared to say goodbye.

You have a heart of Gold to help the poor cat - I hate to see animals suffering too. At least she had a few last hours of being loved and cared for.

Oh sad! It was sweet that you wanted to care for her.

Isn’t it funny how the cat came to your place..probably _knowing_ that you would try to help.
Aww, it is so sad but at least it isn’t suffering anymore..
    :(

that is so sad! although I don’t have a pet other than my fish, I have a soft place in my heart for ones that are sick.
