Mad Goat Lady

And getting madder by the day!

Look at my latest visitor…

I had a friend waiting for me just outside the back door today when I arrived home from shopping…he was after some of the lovely lush grass that is popping up after our summer storms.

That is so cool! I get excited when we have a cicada on the deck, never mind a *real* animal like a kangaroo. Actually, if there was a kangaroo outside our door, I’d probably worry!

oooo he’s a beauty! Haven’t seen any roos at our place, but we get Kookaburra’s.

You know, I always (from this side of the world) think of kangaroos as rather mythical creatures… it’s cool that you have one in your backyard. BTW, I’ve tagged you for a m*m*…if you feel like playing for the holidays!

First a Kookaburra, now a kangaroo! I love the animals that drop by to see the Mad Goat Lady! :)

That’s so cool! You are so lucky to have great visitors like that. I hope they aren’t too shy when I finally get up there to visit :D

Ecellent! My mother would not let my dad fix one part of the fence, as that is where her wallabies used to come through to visit her!

That is incredible… all I get in back yard are squirrels.

  8. Kay on December 14th, 2007 8:06 pm

That is so cool! My visitors are squirrels, the occasional deer . . . and oh yeah. the mouse in the dishtowel drawer. :|

He’s beautiful! Had a joey for a while when I was little - looked after him after his mum was hit by a roo bar :( The animal shelter couldn’t take him because of lack of space, so he slept in a jumper tied by the arms to a chair for a fortnight until they collected him. Bliss.

wow! how cool is that? i live on a mountain and so i get a lot of deer in my yard but like some of your other readers, we only get to see those at the zoo (and let me say, they’re not quite the best examples of the species if I do say so myself). however, i do have a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains out nearly every window, not to mention on every drive I take around the city. That’s something. but a kangaroo…

Wow, that is so awesome. I’m sure much more common in your neck of the woods but still I think it’s pretty cool. I haven’t been in the blogosphere much lately but you made catching up really easy on me - I’m sure you’ve been busy yourself. Hope all is well :D

We are blessed to have so many exotic animals that are still free. There are many varieties of Kangaroos and Wallabies. In Kuranda (Village in the Rainforest) we had ‘agile’. Very sweet and pretty-faced wallabies. Here where I now live, in the dry Queensland outback, we have Very large grey kangaroos, which shoot across the road, and have to be looked out for. Greenvale is well named, as we are a kind of an oasis and have SOOOOOO many birds. Including crows that steal the balls of the golf greens!

Is that where the expression ” stone the crows ” comes from?

Happy New Year, MGL! I get excited over orb weavers on my patio in the fall. But a kangeroo? Goodness, but that’s lovely. Was he friendly?

I am wondering - did the marsupial wreak revenge, or has the screen door locked between MGL and her computer? Hello?

I hope 2008 is wonderful for you, with good health, great friends and unexpected joys.

Okay so it’s a little odd that I’m getting worried about a woman in Australia that I’ve never met but I hope you have been enjoying your holidays SO much that you just don’t have a minute to post. However, holidays are over now so get back to posting so the internet knows all is well. Happy New Year!
