Mad old cat lady?
Posted on September 14, 2007 - Filed Under General
I was lying on my bed this morning, blissfully enjoying the peace and quiet and enthralled in a good book.
The window above my bed is always left open to allow my cats to come and go as they like. I head a cat jump onto the water tanks and then onto the window sill. I looked up and there was Tittens with a lizard in her mouth!
I screamed and jumped off the bed faster than an olympic high jumper….Tittens meeeooowed and dropped her lizard which scurried quickly over my bed and then disappeared.
I have tried to catch it to let it free, but boy those little (about 30cm’s long) blighters are as fast as lightening!
I have given up for now…I have left Tittens locked in there to sort it out….her lizard her problem.
Tittens doesn’t catch lizards to kill them, she just plays with them and usually they seem quite compliant with this interaction….now her latest playmate is a different kettle of fish..he just doesn’t want to play nice.
Ok now I have calmed down I think I need to go and sort these playmates out!
Phewww what a morning and the day has barely started!

okay…I have to know what happens next!
Mr Lizard has been safely relocated to the garden.
Last time I saw him he was lying in the sun with Tittens keeping a very close eye on him!
Ugh. My middle son used to keep snakes in the house. Our cats were fascinated with them. Occasionally one would get out, and we’d find it on the stairs with punctures in its side, the victim of hard feline play. Of course, my son would be upset as he’d paid for the snake. Good lesson to keep the lids on the boxes and a chance for me to tell him I’d get rid of all of them if I ever found one again!
I love lizards.
We don’t have them wild in the UK.
We have newts and they’re really cute, but you never see a lizard sunning itself on a rock over here.
Or at least I never have.
Hope you sorted out your little visitor.
Eeuuw… lizard? I am afraid of wild animal.
A shocking interesting morning =), MGL
ouch - our Eddie only brings in the littlies to terrorise - although in the last 2 days he has taken to bringing in grubs - large white grubs - yuk.
My sil’s cat used to bring in snakes too - dead ones, thank goodness.
OMG! I would have freaked too! Glad the lizard is back at home.
